| HMS Defender: (decommisioned) | |||
HMS Defender H.07, is the flag ship of my fleet of computers. Its name is taken from the british D-class destroyer. It is a Pentium II, 333 MHz, 128 MB RAM, 53 GB HD, Linux Slackware 2.6.9. It used to support as a gateway, firewall, VPN-client/server, AFS-gateway for my private network, and as computing resource. Defender was first replaced by challenger but now, centurion has it's place. |

| MS Hunter: | |||
Its name is nicked from a ship of which I know too little about, it is a former military ship which used to harbour near the locks of Hammarby. The setup is a Pentium4, 2.0 GHz, 512 MB DDR, 85 GB HD, winXP, GeForce4 4800 VIVO. |

| RSS Challenger: | |||
| RSS Challenger was the my replacement for HMS Defender. The name comes from the new name of one of the four Swedish submarines former named HMS Sjöbjörnen class Sjöormen that was sold to Singapore. It is currently located elsewhere and is used for backup of delicate files. It also serves as a NFS file server, VPN-client/server. The setup is a Pentium3, 800 MHz, 256 MB RAM, 20 GB HD, Linux Slackware 2.6.9. | |||
| Biker: | |||
Biker, is one of my laptops. The name comes from when I installed OS the first time I didn't have time to come up with a good name. Actually, the most time when installing an OS on a computer is to think about a good name. The computer is a Pentium M Centrino, 1.6 GHz, 768 MB DDR, 30 GB HD, Ubuntu 8.04. |
| Mini: | |||
Mini, is an Asus EEE PC 701. The name comes from the obvious form factor of the computer. I use it mainly when travelling cause it weighs less than a kilo. |
| HMS Unnamed: | |||
The noname computer is a result of a preinstalled Windows Vista. Hence, it is unnamed. :) It is a Fujitsu-Siemens box, about the size of a minimum cd-case with a height of 5 cm. It has a 1.86 GHz CPU and 1 GB RAM with a decent sized harddrive. (no details at the moment :) I only use it to view movies on my tv. |

| HMS Invincible: (decommissioned) | |||
HMS Invincible R.05, is a my former firewall. The name origins from a british aircraft carrier. At the moment it only serves as a backup gateway, and heat radiator. As it used to be my firewall, it is still hanging in there doing some work for me, hence the name Invincible. The computer is a Pentium 200 MHz, 24 MB, 4.8 GB HD, Linux Slackware 2.2.19. (note the irony that HMS Invincible is mostly shutdown. In fact, I don't know where it is any more.) |
| HMS Warrior: (decommisioned) | |||
HMS Warrior, is my oldest computer. The name comes as well as HMS Invincible from a british aircraft carrier. The computer was once used to be a trial and error computer for trying new linux setups on. It also served as the backup gateway when HMS Invincible was the primary gateway. Currently, the computer os handed over to mandor, doing nothing I suppose, and will continue doing that forever. The computer is a Pentium 100 MHz, 16 MB, 3.2 GB HD, Linux Slackware 2.2.19. |
| Firecrest: (decommisioned) | |||
Firecrest, is the boat computer. The idea of the name origins from a fake research ship in Alistair McLean's book 'When eight bells toll'. Firecrest was used as my primary laptop but is now making its duty in the sailing boat as the sea chart plotter. The computer is an IBM thinkpad Pentium 133 MHz, 16 MB, 800 MB HD, Windows 98. |
